Thieves steal war medals in cruel Kureelpa robbery

A Kureelpa family was left devastated recently after thieves broke in and “completely ransacked” and robbed their home in broad daylight.

Thieves took jewellery and electronic devices.

Worst of all home owner Michael MacDonald, who toured Afghanistan as a combat engineer, had his service medals and an enemy AK47 bayonet stolen.

“We just wanted to put out a warning for people in the local area to be wary,” said Kate MacDonald.

“If anyone knows anything about this, my husband would be grateful to have his Australian Defence Force medals returned which are of no monetary value but are very important to him. Thanks to our local police who were wonderful. Lock up everyone and keep an eye out in your street.”

Police are investigating and have drawn fingerprints from draws and doors.
